Warming up for December
We hope you all had a wonderful, safe Thanksgiving holiday. It seems strange that there are only a few weeks left in 2020 but we can’t say we are sad to see it go. However, in the beer industry this is one of the best seasons of the year. Rich, dark, smooth beers that warm you up from the inside out are one of the best things about the winter.
Ill Tempered Gnome from Oakshire Brewing is the first on the list of new beers we are jazzed about this week. This American Brown Ale has quickly become a favorite from these guys in Oregon. They have dialed in the Ill Tempered Gnome by combining toasty dark malts with resinous hops making this an excellent choice for the season. They also brought us Hellshire X Imperial Stout, Overcast Espresso Oatmeal Stout, and restocks of their absolutely classic Oakshire Amber. No matter what you crave, Oakshire has an amazing beer for you.
Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project
2020 has been a year of many firsts for Crooked Stave. Our brewers are continually expanding their skill sets and whipping up some of the tastiest experimental brews we have ever made. They are really starting to flex their muscles with Patito Imperial Milk Stout. A 9.5% Mexican Cake inspired stout made with cinnamon, chocolate, vanilla and a touch of cayenne pepper. Cinnamon leads the way to lend an almost biscotti cookie flavor, followed by deep dark chocolate that combines perfectly with creamy vanilla and lactose. Don’t worry. The cayenne takes a back seat and only offers the slightest tickle of spicy flavor on the far backend. This is one of our most ambitious beers in 2020 and we absolutely nailed it. Drink fresh to let those adjuncts shine!
If you’re wanting something lighter but still needing some warm and fuzzies from your beverage choices, Boochcraft brought us restocks of their Spiced Pear Hard Kombucha. This seasonal is one of our favorites every year. French Bosc Pears and warming spices are aged in American Oak to produce an effervescent hard kombucha ready for a fire place.
